The President appears to believe that Terri Schiavo, a brain-dead woman with a liquefied cerebral cortex should not be allowed to die. Yet men, women, and children are "allowed to die" in this country every day, on his watch, as a result of poverty, crime, and lack of proper health care. |

Recognizing the Power of Nonviolent Action |

In contrast to armed struggles, these nonviolent insurrections are movements of organized popular resistance to government authority, and they—either consciously or by necessity—eschew the use of weapons of modern warfare. Sure, a terrorist nuke would be bad, but the real threat to the world are the thousands of nucelar weapons still held in a state of readiness to kill at a moments notice by the US, Russia, UK, France, China, Israel, India, and Pakistan. Even if North Korea and Iran have or are able to build nukes at some point, they could never use those few to attack anyone without risk of being turned into a vast wasteland of smoking glass.
