The U.S. vetoed a UN Security Council resolution calling on governments to observe international law. After deliberately targeting the civilian public health infrastructure, the U.S. military imposes a continuing economic blockade on Iraq which has directly resulted in the deaths of hundreds upon hundreds of thousands of children. |

If the US now cedes the moral ground previously staked out in the policy of nuclear deterrence - the hallmark of which was no first use of nuclear weapons - it will fulfill the terrorists' and the outlaws' most demonic picture of the US as a state that preaches probity and restraint to others but reserves complete freedom of action to itself, now apparently including the use of nuclear weapons. |

GEO emerges victorious after 13 hour sit-in |

Nearly 40 GEO members and allies shut down Swanlund Administration Building at UIUC in order to enter a process toward allowing graduate employees the right to elect union representation. Following a 13-hour sit-in, including three hours of negotiation, the GEO had successfully reached their demand. |
