The sad part is the people who should be paying attention to this mostly just don't seem to get it, according to the comments posted below the article at the link given. It looks like there is still plenty of the racism that drives such caricatures as "Chief Illiniwek" in Illinois also alive and well in Nebraska. People may want to go to the site linked below and try to turn the direction of the discussion around. |

Today on the mediageek radio show I'll be interviewing Jeremy Alderson, aka 'Nobody,' host of the annual Homeless Marathon on his being taking off the air at his former home station, WEOS in Geneva, NY.
Also, Amy Aidman, public interest communications researcher, will be on talking about today's protests at the FCC in Washington, DC, where the "Angels of the Public Interest" are demonstrating against the FCC's plan to radically deregulate media ownership.

It's interesting to note that while manufacturing jobs rapidly bleed away under NAFTA and the WTO to low-wage countries, the one sector that is allowed under those agreements to remain "inefficiently" in the United States is none other than national security contracts, a.k.a. War Toys. |
