The Coalition for a Just Cincinnati will not call off the boycott on Cincinnati despite a pending lawsuit. The Cincinnati Arts Association, (CAA) which manages local government-owned venues, has filed a lawsuit in the Hamilton County Court of Common Pleas against individuals active in the Coalition for a Just Cincinnati, alleging tortious interference with a contract. The suit comes in the wake of a string of national performers canceling their scheduled appearances in Cincinnati. The lawsuit asks for $88,850 in damages due to cancellations, and $500,000 in punitive damages. |

Democrats opposed the bill (H Con Res 353) because it "raids the social security trust fund." I have questions: 1) are the graph categories accurate or meaningful? (e.g. The Elementary and Secondary Education Act only allocates about $27 billion for education this year, so where is the rest of the $79 billion for "Education and Job Training" going?) 2) Does this budget represent anybody's national priorities? (cf. www.warresisters.org) |

Equal distribution and good economy belong together! |

If a lie is repeated often enough it turns into truth. Neoliberal economists with Nobel Prizes in their knapsacks have hammered into our policymakers’ heads that we need widened income gaps (“a more flexible income spread”) in the developed world as well as in the developing world. A simple but powerful analysis shows that they are wrong and that we should not increase gaps for better economic performance. |

Haaretz article about the degree of public support for a new peace-centric party in Israel. It's a pity that, on the same day, more voters were probably driven into the Likud by another suicide bombing against civilians -- in this case, on the most inportant night of one of the chief Jewish holidays. |

Silly Secrecy |

The News-Gazette carried a rather silly article on "secret" U.S. command facilities in today's edition. It was datelined as being from "A SECURE UNDISCLOSED LOCATION". I guess that leaves it up to IMC to give the public the truth...
It simply isn't a secret. |

it from 1992 when I was walking through town. |
