All politics is local -- and people are fed-up with the waste in American lives and resources committed to Bush's war in Iraq. Even more importantly in the minds of many is the need to put a distance between the moral depravity of Bush and ordinary Americans, who overwhelmingly oppose such policies as torture, rejection of Red Cross oversight over prison camps, and sponsorship of corrupt and illegal regimes. Unless we speak out , we share culpability with Bush for his the war crimes against the people of Iraq and share in his responsibuility for their many times more numerous deaths and suffering. |
