UC-IMC reporter Peter Miller calls from a pay phone in the middle of the street at the intersection where two marches - one organized by labor and one by the general community meet. The marchers chant "solidarity" and waver at the intersection deciding whether to head towards the FTAA negotiations, the wall, and the cops or to head away from the conflict.

What Will Peace Look Like: Israeli-Palestinian Dialog, was held on Wed., April 18th at the Channing-Murray Foundation on the UIUC campus. It was described as a forum where people with different perspectives could come together and talk to one another about possible outcomes. Over 400-500 women and men gathered today at the Take Back the Night rally at 7pm at the quad. The rally was organized and supported by over 45 organizations. The theme was fighting sexual violence and linking that fight to other struggles against discrimination and for social justice. |
