Critical Mass held a special Earth Day ride today at 5pm. |
Critical Mass met at 5pm at the Alma Mater today. A WCIA reporter showed up and did live coverage of the ride at 5pm. Apparently WCIA expected the ride to be very large because of Earth Day. Unfortunately only 7 riders actually showed up. But we still got our media coverage.
Despite the small numbers the ride was very lively with everyone really getting into the chanting and we actually pulled in 2 or 3 people from the street to join us for a mile here or there. We buzzed past the gallery walk in Champaign and got many encouraging cheers.
We left the ride with a lot of energy to build a really big ride next week at our regularly scheduled April ride on the 27th. We also decided to move the official meeting time to 5:15pm since people never seem to show up until then anyway.
See everyone at 5:15pm at the Alma Mater at the corner of Green and Wright on Friday, April 27th. |
