3rd Annual IDF Human Rights Film Series
"Soldiers Pay"
Thursday, March 31st, 7pm
At IDF |
On Thursday, March 31st, the Illinois Disciples Foundation’s Third Annual Human Rights Film Series will present its first film this spring, Soldiers Pay. Soldiers Pay is a documentary on the current war in Iraq by Three Kings director David O. Russell. Dozens of people were interviewed over a six week period, and created a chorus of voices – including veterans of the war, Iraqis who rose up against Saddam after the last war and escaped to the US, journalists, politicians, psychologists, and even a two-star general who led the Marines to victory in the first Gulf War. The showing will begin at 7pm and will be followed by a facilitated discussion. The IDF is located at the NW corner of Springfield and Wright St. in Champaign. For more information, please call the IDF at (217) 352-8721 or check out the website at www.prairienet.org/idf. |
