Budget cuts threaten to close the Paris Work Camp of the Illinois Department of Corrections. Not only will the job cuts affect the workers and communities involved, but these camps provide labor for many community projects. The closing of these camps may also result in inmates having fewer opportunities to avoid more confining conditions in regular state prisons while serving their sentences. ML |
