Karl Rove Indictment -- Left Must Find Way to Leverage It
Current rating: 0
23 Jul 2005
Karl Rove probably will be indicted, convicted, and sentenced. Bush will not fire him. Progressives must find ways to capitalize on Rove's civic downfall to cause the downfall of the whole Republican/conservative/Religious Right cabal. Victory could be ours, when Rove is indicted.

Rove Scandal Could Stick
Current rating: 0
22 Jul 2005
Rove may not have broken a specific 1982 law prohibiting disclosure of the identity of a covert C.I.A. operative. But there are other laws against U.S. officials leaking classified information. Government Abandons Children to Big Food
Current rating: 0
21 Jul 2005
By conservative estimates, a full two-thirds of the panelists - hand-picked by FTC and HHS - had financial ties to either the food or advertising industries. To add insult to injury, from the chairman of the FTC on down, nearly every government official who had the chance made clear that regulation of junk food ads aimed at children was not on the table and wouldn't be anytime soon. FTC Commissioner Thomas Leary went so far as to warn against the government becoming a "nanny state." If this sounds familiar, it's because that's usually industry's line.
