U-C IMC Adopts Personnel Policy |

The U-C IMC has adopted a personnel policy to address issues of interpersonal conflict that must occasionally be resolved by formal action by the IMC. We feel that it is important that all members, staff, and users of IMC facilities feel safe, have their views respected, and interact with others in the IMC space in a positive manner. We hope that it is only neccessary to invoke this policy on rare occasions, but everyone should be aware of its existence in case you encounter a situation that cannot be resolved otherwise. |

The Fourth Amendment to the U. S. Constitution spells out the right of citizens to be "secure in their persons, houses, papers and effects against unreasonable searches..." by their government.
When that amendment was ratified in 1791, no one imagined that it would be corporations, not governments, which would use their vast power to invade the privacy of citizens and, in effect, carry out unreasonable searches of the most intimate personal data. |

One Year Later, Discrimination Still Outrages Americans
Editor's Note: Locally, the Girl Scouts have decided that they don't wish to share their local camp with the Boy Scouts because of their discriminatory polices, leading to a barrage of hate mail against them in the News-Gazette letters section. What these writers fail to realize is that the Supreme Court decision backs up the Girl Scouts right to associate with who they choose. They've chosen to associate with those who aren't bigots. |
