Pentagon Warns Of Warscamming/War Profiteering Of Its Propaganda Material |

U.S. defense officials are warning consumers to be wary of anyone selling what is fast becoming the most highly prized souvenir of the war against Iraq: a deck of playing cards depicting the 55 most wanted Iraqi leaders.
I personally received two spam e-mails purporting to be offering these cards for sale just yesterday. It looks like this is the latest in Internet scams, although I also imagine that it will be mostly war supporters who are likely to want to buy what they think is a genuine piece of Pentagon propaganda. After all, people gullible enough to buy the premises of this war are likely also gullible enough to fall for this. Let the buyer beware. ML |

Less than 24 hours after issuing a press release (below) highlighting the failures of the U.S. Military's attempts to oversee humanitarian intervention in Iraq, Voices in the Wilderness was banned from meeting with the U.S. Civil Military Operations Center, or international journalists, working out of the Palestine Hotel in Baghdad (see attached picture). |

Clearly the American press relied heavily on "official sources" such as the Pentagon, despite the fact that such sources are among the most unreliable. While many people lie, government officials are highly trained prevarication professionals. For reasons never explained in the corporate media, reporters typically regard them as trustworthy. They daily accept "official" statements without a second source, a level of trust not accorded your average honest citizen. |
