Former Green Party presidential candidate Ralph Nader lost his court fight today to bar corporate underwriting of presidential and vice presidential debates.
The Supreme Court did not comment in turning down an appeal from Nader, celebrity supporters Susan Sarandon and Phil Donahue and other Green Party candidates. |

Recently, the Daily Illini has come
under criticism for publishing ads in the name of Free Speech. Two weeks ago, they ran an ad by David Horowitz which was a series of arguments against affirmative action. This past Thursday they ran another ad by the INITIATIVE project, which argued that views they don't agree with should not be protected by free speech. What follows is an unedited copy of a letter sent to the DI in response to their critics, and to them. The letter that ran in the DI was stripped of mention of the Independent Media Center. |
