Sponsored by Amnesty International Group 124, Jews on Campus, Muslim Students Association, Hillel Student Board, and Students for Palestine, it aims to give a non-biased perspective on the conflict for anyone who wants to know. The following letter to the editor was published in the Sunday, March 25, 2001 Champaign News-Gazette.
The apparently still have an very authoritarian style editor working letters over to suit themselves. In numerous letters over the year, I have already used the capitalized "Living Wage" form, but they must feel that gives Living Wage as an issue too much signifigance. They always reduce my caps to lower case. It's sort of a case of art imitating life, where ideas a devalued with "minimum English" values to demonstrate their support for as minimal a wage as possible. |

You have an alternative to send a clear message to send a message to Tod about his attempts to undermine even the hint of progressive politics by red-baiting city council members and candidates that are simply representing the views of their constituents. If so, express your wish to Tod that if that's the way he wants to run a city, he ought to move to Champaign and run for mayor there by voting for Alfred Weiss for Mayor in Urbana. |
