Supermarket chains (including Schnuck's two local stores), frightened by the bad publicity surrounding recent meat recalls, are choosing to carry irradiated meat. Their marketing spin claims that irradiated ground beef is a "safe" choice for consumers. But, contrary to what proponents of irradiation claim, it has not been proven safe. We cannot let them subject their customers to this questionable technology just to let meat producers cover up dirty meat! |

The Anti-War, Anti-Racism Effort meets weekly (5 pm Sundays at 218 W. Main St) and is increasing activities as Bush moves closer to waging his personal war against Iraq. |
