Peace Supporters Brave Cold In CU |

Over 70 people braved 19-degree temperatures to demonstrate their opposition to war. The citizens gathered near the big box stores on Prospect Ave., just north of I-74. The Anti-War, Anti-Racism Effort meets weekly (5 pm Sundays at 218 W. Main St) and is increasing activities as Bush moves closer to waging his personal war against Iraq. |

The citizens who gathered on North Prospect took part in a weekly demonstration, but this week, they stood in solidarity with an estimated 250,000 who ralled for peace in Washington, DC. The DC group included 60 from Champaign-Urbana.
