Gov. Jennifer Granholm of Michigan, a Democrat, said the comments were made in the context of "we can't be supportive of the status quo and they're the status quo. But whatever the context, it is inappropriate - I know he wasn't calling teachers terrorists - but to ever suggest that the organization they belong to was a terrorist organization is uncalled for."

Text of Illinois SB 2579--Hospital Discriminatory Pricing. Comment: Champaign-Urbana's CCHCC involvement in this effort has not generated the expected results. They tried last year and failed. CCHCC must recognize that it's best to focus on local issues rather than on high profile/publicity seeking state-level stuff; its opponents on this (hospital trade groups) have much more resources and to play the lobbying game/or insider game is really a huge waste.
