A source in Chicago suggests that Ahmed has been transfered to a court house for some kind of hearing. This just days after Ahmed composed a statement demanding a bond hearing and organizers began preparing to push for such a hearing. |

I urge my heirs, assigns, and anyone else who is interested to regard George W. Bush, Richard Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld, and Ariel Sharon - just for starters - as major co-conspirators in my death. Their reckless and despicable behavior placed their puerile political ambitions over simple safety and decency. Demonstrating once again the repressive and brutal results of US policy in Latin America, the arrest of yet another School of the Americas graduate proves that US-sponsored education and aid is directly responsible for increasing the efficiency of assassins in militaries throughout the region. Oh, really? In those days, the FBI did NOT have legal authority to do much of what it did. Now that the nation suffers under the yoke on our freedoms called the Patriot Act, along with a recently announced relaxation of rules for the conduct of investigations, the FBI now has legal cover for excesses far beyond their unlawful excesses of the past. Which would make things 'different', but not in a good way. |
