From February 15th to June 29th, HalifaxSymposium.ca will be hosting a series of round table discussions on topics of interest to those involved in Independent Media. |
The first session, on the issue of "advocacy journalism", is currently under way, with fascinating results:

The format has two components. The first is a list of official participants who, each in turn, contribute their response to the discussion. Second is an area for informal discussion attached to each entry, which is open to the public and is not limited by 'turns'. This allows for a combination of the focus of formality with the freedom of spontaneity.
So far, an interesting range of perspectives been represented: journalists, scholars, philosophers, and activists. We hope to expand this for future discussions.
Know someone who should participate? Have a topic you think needs to be discussed? Send suggestions to info (at) halifaxsymposium.ca
