While the internet is fabulous when it comes to finding out how many like-minded people there are around you, it is at the same time sadly a silent and invisible weapon. No internet campaign will ever make it to prime time TV or to the front page of any paper. In case you are in doubt, just remember Ukraine last winter. It was the sight of these people braving it for many days in the freeze in their orange attire which caught your attention, wasn't it? Would you have noticed any anger on Ukrainian websites instead?? |

Here is an idea that makes too much sense to be ever accomplished. Combine the “States” of Israel, Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, Gaza and West Bank (Palestine?) into “The Secular Federal Nation of Holy Land”. |

Fred Hampton again grabbed headlines when Chicago's neo-fascist Fraternal Order of Police excoriated Alderwoman Madeline Haithcock over her proposal to name the short block where Hampton was assassinated "Chairman Fred Hampton Way." The idea was proposed to Haithcock by Hampton's son, Fred Hampton, Jr., who carries on his father's revolutionary legacy through the Prisoner of Conscience Committee. |

New Studies Back Benefits of Organic Diet |

A U.S. research team from Emory University in Atlanta analyzed urine samples from children ages three to 11 who ate only organic foods and found that they contained virtually no metabolites of two common pesticides, malathion and chlorpyrifos.
However, once the children returned to eating conventionally grown foods, concentrations of these pesticide metabolites quickly climbed as high as 263 parts per billion, says the study published Feb. 21. |
