Take Action, let the DLC now that it is the lack of “backbone” that has allowed Bush to get away with whatever he wants. We need a Democrat who stands up for what is right, and doesnâ€(TM)t take the safe road. Let them know that since the day they were given leadership positions in the party, there has been no unified message and the Republicans have continued to increase their grip on power. |

Despite the near-blackout on broadcast media, the FCC has received an enormous, perhaps unprecedented amount of public feedback on the ownership rules. According to Editor & Publisher magazine (5/5/03), commissioner Michael Copps says that the FCC has received over 18,000 comments from individuals, which overwhelmingly opposed relaxation of ownership restrictions. According to the group Free Press, comments from the public are running at least 10 to 1 against the FCC's plan to allow large media companies to get even bigger. If media corporations and the FCC's Republican commissioners get their way, the FCC's vote will disregard this overwhelming public opposition. |

PsyOps, apparently using a strategy originally developed by teenagers to annoy their parents, is subjecting Iraqi POWs to prolonged doses of Metallica and children's music in an attempt to break their wills. In a closely related story, PsyOps is generating news stories about its inane treatment of Iraqi POWs in attempt to break the wills of the audiences of news outlets. |
