August 2003 marks the 58th Anniversary of the Atomic bombings of Hiroshima (Aug. 6) and Nagasaki (Aug. 9). Those who survived the blasts became known as hibakusha (Atom Bomb Survivors). Many hibakusha have created Paintings and Drawings based on their experiences that vividly illustrate the horrors of Atomic fire. |

McMasters is right in observing that this imposes considerable constraints on reporters. But he ignores the fact that it is a choice. Journalists do not have to subordinate themselves to the powerful in such direct fashion. They choose to do it, for a variety of reasons. |
