You guys might know this, or might NOT know this.. but
the CSAW,Boston and Mid West Stop the war coalitions
have set up an internet chat conference.. and tried to
keep it a bit hush hush.. Tomorrow night is when it's
supposed to happen. This is their 2nd time coming
together to plan for the national conference. I urge
you all to log on tomorrow night because anyone can
join in on the chat. And like i said before we can
only be bitter and complain about what went down for
so long until we actually start to do something and
actually fight within this system that's created
around us. Please join in if you can. |

The P.U.-litzer Prizes were established a decade ago to give recognition to the stinkiest media performances of the year.
As each winter arrives, I confer with Jeff Cohen of the media watch group FAIR to sift through the large volume of entries. This year, the competition was especially fierce. We regret that only a few journalists can win a P.U.-litzer. |

In his introduction to Animal Farm, George Orwell commented that
whilst the government does not actively censor the media, "the
sinister fact about literary censorship in England is that it is
largely voluntary". He continued, "Unpopular ideas can be silenced,
and inconvenient facts kept dark, without the need for any official
ban." He lamented important facts being kept out of the press, "not
because the Government intervened but because of a general tacit
agreement that 'it wouldn't do' to mention that particular fact." |
