Why The Democratic Party Is Backing Bush's War Drive Vs. Iraq |
by Patrick Martin (No verified email address) |
Current rating: 0 11 Oct 2002

Perhaps the most significant vote in the Senate took place more than a week before the final passage of the war resolution. It was the vote to shut down the one-man filibuster launched by Senator Robert Byrd of West Virginia against any consideration of the measure. ... Byrd said. "This resolution is breathtaking in its scope. It redefines the nature of defense. It reinterprets the Constitution to suit the will of the executive branch.". . . On Thursday the FCC authorized the go-ahead for new digital radio stations using a system known as In-Band On-Channedl (IBOC). These stations could go on the air in a matter of months. Just called Senator Fitzgerald to tell him I was angry about his vote and would work against his re-election. People answering phone were not amused. They had a John Phillips Sousa March for their hold music. How appropriate. His number in Washington is 202-224-5661. Flood his office with calls, let him get the message that we are not for war. Thanks, celeste |

this war after TWO YEARS! be voted down, unless the plan is for this war to go on, and
on, and on. Oh yeah, they'll be bringing back the draft, that's for sure! |
