Looks like another bandaid for the nuclear industry. If they are stocking enough potassium iodine for the relative handful of population that lives within ten miles of the Clinton Nuclear plant, everybody in 100,000+ population Champaign County is in deep doo-doo in the event of a terrorist attack on the plant that lies 40 miles to our west, upwind. With the wind blowing at 20mph (like it does at times) those of us not lucky enough to have a supply on hand (how else could they distribute it quick enough in an emergency?) have a very small time window in which to evacuate. |
