AFTER QUEBEC: Where Does the Global Justice Movement Go From Here?

A panel with Kevin Danaher, Soren Ambrose and Meredith Kolodner.

A new generation of fighters and political activists is being forged in the wake of protests against the WTO in Seattle, the a16 protests in Washington D.C. against the IMF and World Bank, and the April protests against the FTAA.

What’s next in the fight against corporate globalization? How can we beat the multinationals? This discussion, led by Kevin Danaher of Global Exchange, Soren Ambrose of 50 Years is Enough and Meredith Kolodner of the International Socialist Organization and the New York Coalition to Stop the FTAA, aims to contribute to and further this ongoing debate.

4:15pm Friday, June 15, Congress Plaza Hotel, 520 S. Michigan Ave. Downtown Chicago.

A new generation of fighters -including ISO?
Current rating: 0
12 Jun 2001
It's true that a new generation of militant fighters are emerging in the struggle against global capitalism. However, you won't find them lining up behind the shrill, purile sectarians of the ISO, during their Socialist Summer School extravaganza. You will however be subjected to cult recruiting techniques that rival the Moonies on a good day. Despite the fact that ISO has a thinly disguised contempt for the politics of most of the non ISO speakers that are presenting at the School (and will privately trash them to their own membership after each session), the diverse presentation of speakers serves a useful organizational purpose..as bait for the broader progressive movement. Do yourself a favor, save your 75 bucks or donate it to any of a myriad of community groups, organizations and collectives actually engaged in building this movement. And enjoy your weekend
