Reverend Billy's Unholy War
Current rating: 0
22 Aug 2004
RevBilly.jpgHe is 6-foot-3, impossible not to look at in his white suit, clerical collar and dyed-blond pompadour. He is also not a real minister -- he is a New York-based performance artist and activist named Bill Talen -- but it generally takes people a minute or two to figure that out, and this confusion over the exact derivation of his authority is the space in which he thrives. ''Hallelujah!'' he shouts through a white cardboard megaphone as he bursts through the door. ''This is an abusive place, children! It has landed in this neighborhood like a space alien! The union-busting, the genetically-engineered milk, the fake bohemianism! But we don't have to be here, children! This is the Good News!''

The Inquiry
Current rating: 0
22 Aug 2004
I am curious to find out what the criteria to place articles in local news section or in regular section is. I really think that my last article (...REQUEST FOR PROPER COOPERATION..) deserves more than local attention. At least, that is what I was told before when I was rewarded for the poetry , which is presented there. I would, certainly, like to get some clarification of why it was placed in local section.

The Present Time
Current rating: 0
22 Aug 2004
All we can feel about our selves is that we are experiencing "the present time" on and on throughout our lifetime. Could all this possibly be a result of the fact that the basic matter that forms the contents of the universe is "always present" and that all it experiences is but a change of position?

21 Aug 2004
There are numerous connections between the Bush family and the Nazis. Moreover, the philosophy of the neocons within the Bush administration has already been connected with fascism. However, no article has attempted to present an overview of the fascist connections within the Bush administration.

"The Corporation" comes to town!
Current rating: 0
21 Aug 2004
Modified: 06:13:23 PM
Over the summer, Boardman's Art Theatre brought the C-U area Fahrenheit 9/11 when our government and big business tried to suppress it and other theater chains banned it. In a time when media is controlled by the powerful few that determine what we can watch and what will be released to the masses, we must support the independent film movement and let our voice be heard against corporate control of media.

Venezuelan Referendum Highlights Problems With Polling and Elections - Exit Poll Seriously Flawed; Pre-Referendum Polls Predicted Results
Current rating: 0
21 Aug 2004
CEPR's analysis further shows that the result -- that Chavez would win -- was easily predictable from pre-election polling. Many press accounts had reported the election as "too close to call," but the probability of getting a random sample of 2000 respondents that would fall within the margin of error -- i.e. too close to call -- were less than one in 50 million.
