For this business bacchanalia the taxpayers were required to pay the Democratic party thirteen million dollars (and later the same amount for the Republican Party Convention). A few years ago Congress- namely the two Parties- decided that these political Conventions were "educational" in nature and worthy of your tax dollars. |

The only thing the 2004 Democratic Party platform could offer opponents of the war is a sentence which acknowledges that "People of good will disagree about whether America should have gone to war in Iraq."
As the Los Angeles Times editorialized, "Indeed they do. That is why we have elections, and it would have been nice if the opposition party had the guts to actually oppose it." |

A recent study by the Kaiser Family Foundation found that American children see 40,000 ads per year, double what they watched a generation ago. Most are for cereals, candy and fast food. The study found links between the rise in unhealthy food advertising and childhood obesity. |

Many of the discriminatory aspects of marriage law in Israel come from the fact that there is no equivalent to common-law or civil marriage. A call to the anti-Orthodox Shinui party to change that. Yossi Beilin, incidentally, was one of the Israeli leaders who coordinated the (unfortunately doomed) Geneva Accord last year. |
