Short sardonic poem from an admitted malcontent. First I've written in many tears. Hope you like it. I thought of the IMC in my original hometown when it was finished. (PS - happy 2yr Anniversary) |
Weapons of Mass Distraction
Winds of war blow across sands of time
Towards darkening hearts of the meek
Whose televised persecution is repentance
For petty private preversions of the powerful
The closed door deals designed to deceive
Oil the wheels of war, industry, and sloth
And the prophets of profit put small change
As deposits on souls without fear of loss

Howdy Old Comrade,
Thanks for timely poem and the well-wishes on our Second Anniversary.
Your poem brings to mind the discussions that are in the works to bring Newspoety (see http://www.newspoetry.com) back as a part of the UC IMC. This requires some technical changes on the software running the website and an agreement between Newspoetry and the IMC on groundrules for running Newspoetry here. We'll keep our readers posted on developments. |
