Saturday July 16
6-8 pm
One Main Plaza
Downtown Champaign |
(Champaign) The Downing Street memo, Karl Rove, the London tube attacks, a new car bomb practically every day in Iraq, PATRIOT Act II... the reasons just keep multiplying.
Too many reasons, perhaps, simply to keep protesting the first Saturday of every month. So the Anti-War Anti-Racism Effort (AWARE) is holding an extra demonstration this month, on Saturday the sixteenth. And this time it's from 6-8pm, instead of the usual early afternoon fare.
Now that polls are showing a majority of the American people oppose the war in Iraq, it's time to look for new venues to make contact with new faces, new voices.
This demonstration is an effort to see that more people learn what they can do about it.
Volunteers needed for a few small but important tasks.

Some people accept that you can "own" freedom, but you're not allowedd to operate it on the public streets. I have higher expectations than that. |
