I just read the recent thank you letter from Ahmed and I would like to help start or continue a group dealing with our inhumane prison system. I have many friends and associates from this area who have been incarcerated for non-violent crimes and something has to be done about this. I know some prisons in Illinois keep new inmates on a 3-month probation period where they are on a 23-hour lock down and recieve only 1 15-min. phone call for the first month. This lock down is not a punishment for anything they have done wrong while in prison-it is automatic for these new inmates.
