Forum and lecture titled “Gender Feminism and the Voices Not Heard: Has America Gone Deaf In One Ear?” on June 21.
A considerable number of women and men alike consider the National Organization for Women to be unrepresentative of American women and American society as a whole. We want people to know that there are other perspectives on gender issues.
That's why NCFM-TC is hosting a forum and lecture titled “Gender Feminism and the Voices Not Heard: Has America Gone Deaf In One Ear?” on June 21.
The event will coincide with N.O.W.'s national convention in St. Paul MN that same weekend. It features internationally known authors, such as Trudy W. Schuett, publisher of the Desert Light Journal, and author of Friends to the End. Also on hand will be Wendy McElroy, author and FoxNews columnist, and Warren Farrell,
author of The Myth of Male Power and former board member of New York City Chapter of N.O.W.
Issues to be discussed include
· Do men oppress women?
· Is there a wage gap between women and men?
· Why have many children been cut off from their fathers?
· Does our school system shortchange girls – or boys?
· Is violence against women increasing – or decreasing?
· Do both sexes commit domestic violence?
This forum and lecture is free and open to the public, and news media are invited.
It will be held on Friday evening, June 21, 2002 from 7:00 to 9:00 PM in the
Ramsey County Room (Room 317) of Landmark Center, at 75 West 5th Street
in downtown Saint Paul.

Trudy W. Schuett is the Yuma AZ-based author of “Friends to the End,” the groundbreaking novel on the hidden side of domestic violence, publisher of The DesertLight Journal, the e-zine of the international men’s movement, and co-owner of cyberManbooks.com, international publisher of man-friendly e-books.

National Coalition of Free Men – Twin Cities Chapter.

Is there any kind of feminism other than that based on gender?

I predict this dog-and-pony show will be universally ignored, except for the right-wing fringe.

I'm just one of the growing number of people who care about the fact that discrimination against men is either being ignored or actively promoted in our society.

Feminism is a movement based on gender discrimination against men. This is not right. Gender movements should be based on equality, not hatred.

"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has." - Margaret Mead
