Not much but I thought I'd share anyway.

A big thank you to Nick for taking the picures and posting
the story.
What is more, Nick is a typical Indymedia journalist. He was
documenting the action as he took part in it, since Nick
actually spent several hours painting Saturday, in addition to
a short inspired spell of interesting photography.
Nick is one of a dedicated group of people who have been
helping build UC IMC's sweat equity in both our organization
and the new building. Last weekend, in addition to Nick,
Chris, David J, David G, Meg, Todd, Phil, Julio, Bob and Barry
all assisted in prepping and painting rooms on the second
floor as we rush to accomodate a flood of tenants coming in
July 1 that will bring the project close to economic viability
within the first two months of operation.
There will be a final big push to paint this coming weekend,
Saturday, June 25 and Sunday, June 26, when we paint the
upstairs hallways. We will start at 11am both days and work
until we reach a good stopping point in mid-to-late (4pm-ish)
afternoon Saturday and Sunday. If you can't make the whole
time, don't worry, even an hour or two makes a significant
difference when multiple people offer such help. And people
are enjoying interacting with each other , both old friends
and new, as we work. The workers run this job.
The network is now up and running. There are two wireless
nodes on the air, so bring your laptops to meetings, etc, and
try logging on for convenience. Look for info on the nodes in
the production room by the DSL modem and above the staff desk
on top of the library shelf.
The IMC still has a bit of space for those interested in
office space (two 10x16 offices on the second floor, which can
also be made into a suite) and in the artists' collective
workspace on the ground floor. We have a number of inquiries,
so these vacancies will likely not last long.
Other than that, things are going remarkably well given the
usual vacations, etc this time of year. There have been a
number of walk-ins while I have been staffing, usually 3-5pm
on weekdays. Please consider volunteering to staff and join
those of us who do staff by contacting us through the
"Volunteer" link at the top of this webpage to help keep the
IMC open more often. The UC IMC phone number is 344-8820 if
you want to check if we're open. Use the Elm Street entrance
to the old downtown post office building and ring the doorbell. |

ML hurt his shoulder on the job many, many years ago. It took him seven years of fighting the corporate bureaucracy to be compensated. It's reasonable to assume that in the 7+ years since his repetitive-stress-injury was at it's worst, and since his medical treatment, that he has regained mobility in the injured joint.
"Jack" 's accusations are ridiculous and illogical, as are those of most trolls like him.
The examples of greedy, soulless corporations being the very cause of their employees' repetitive-stress-injuries and then doing everything possible to deny their responsibility and to avoid providing medical compensation and lost wage compensation, are numerous.
ML has healed by now, many years later, at least enough to wield a paintbrush. Where's the conspiracy?
In one of the thread's "Jack" ref's, he boasts of personally driving his own injured employees to the hospital. My first thought was, "yeah, so he can ensure that his employee tells the story he wants to be told, and so he can minimize his treatment costs. The rightwing trolls like Jack don't "care" for their employees, they only care about how much an on-the-job injury will cost them. |

"I am going to surprise you here for a minute..."
If you say so. I'm hardly surprised that rightwing trolls bait and antagonize, distract and diverge. Nothing surprising in the least.
"You clearly have no idea what you are talking about."
Pot, meet kettle.
A steaming pile of... antagonistic speculation and pure assumptions from "Jack", as usual. Even got a Limbaugh-esque stab in at "trial lawyers" too.
