Just an aside.
Indybay has hidden it, but I thought you might be interested in an exchange with an "anti-racist" who thinks it's a good thing to incite hatred against 99.5% of American Jews:

Here's the basic argument:
1) Nessie believes that Israel is inherently a racist state, and that anyone who supports its continued existence is therefore also a racist.
2) Nessie believes that supporters of Israel are "Nazism's little brother," and should be not only condemned but actively hated.
3) Nessie defines "supporting Israel" as holding any stance other than calling for Israel to cease to be.
4) By this standard, the July 2003 poll I have cited -- in a poll co-sponsored by the Arab American Institute and Peace Now -- demonstrates that 99.5% of American Jews "support Israel" in nessie's sense.
5) Therefore, again by nessie's sense, 99.5% of American Jews should be not only condemned but actively hated.
6) Nessie does not construe his implicit call to hate 99.5% of American Jews to be antisemitic. He has been given many opportunities to repudiate that call, and he has refused each time.
You may remember that, when that whole business of a year ago went by
(http://www.ucimc.org/newswire/display_any/15535) I went out of my way to make it clear that I wasn't accusing nessie of antisemitism.
When he finds nothing wrong with saying that 99.5% of American Jews "support evil," I can no longer give him the benefit of the doubt. Notice that the only argument he has left is that he doesn't claim we should hate _all_ American Jews; there are still half a percent we shouldn't hate. Oh, that makes it so-o-o-o much less antisemitic. What a relief.

Incidentally, I presume that nessie's link leads to yet another attack on me in a forum in which I am not able to respond owing to its basic Mussolini nature. Presumably he's calling me a racist for agreeing with what 95% of Arab Americans also believ: the Israelis have a right to their own state. (That's data from the same poll which demonstrated that the allegedly "extremist Jewish-supremecist racist Nazi-like" stance nessie tries his best to raise hatred against is actually held by 99.5% of American Jews.) So I haven't bothered to read it. Fortunately, it's somewhere where very, very few will ever see it -- that is, it's on SF-IMC.

Has nessie reached its peak of bigotry? Don't bet on it...
nessie might end up endorsing full blown Naziboy phraseology and even neo-Nazi views concerning all those American Jews (and needless to say Jews worldwide) that do not chant "amen" after his every musing concerning Israel and Zionism. |
