About 30 community members turned out to tour the UCIMC’s new space in the Urbana Post Office on Saturday. For many, this was a first glimpse at the UCIMC’s new home, as many of the Post Office’s areas were previously off limits to the public.
The tour lasted about an hour, and covered the building from top to bottom (second floor to basement). The second floor will be rented out to generate revenues to pay the mortgage and utility bills. The first floor contains two large rooms that are perfect for performances, galleries, and shops, but these spaces cannot be utilized until a security wall has been built to separate the Post Office functions from the IMC spaces. These spaces could become available as early as this fall depending upon how construction progresses. For the time being, all current UCIMC functions will be moved into a suite of rooms in the northeast corner of the basement. These rooms will be accessible from the Elm Street entrance on the north.
Following the tour, a planning meeting was held, and decisions were made as to which specific rooms will house the different UCIMC activities beginning Saturday, May 28. WRFU Radio Free Urbana will have a small room in the northeast basement corner. South of this will be a larger meeting room and two production rooms/studios. Off one of the production rooms is a long room with many shelves that will be perfect for storing Books for Prisoners, library books, and artwork. The big moving day is Saturday, May 28, beginning at 10 AM. Everyone is invited to lend a hand to help make the UCIMC their own. |

Alas, poor Jack, what a sad little man you are, a sad pathetic little man with no life, no friends, no meaning beyond harassing UC-IMCistas. Get a life, as the kids say.
And that barber shop thing--what say the IMC installs a barber shop right next to the speciality nursery for infantile ignoramuses just like you, fair enough?
And Jack, you'll notice I published my e-mail address, feel free to use it rather than clutter up this board. But that would be a mildly courageous thing to do, and you can't even do that. Semper Phi [sic], lil' dude. |

If Jack is so ridicules, why is it so necessary for the free speech alleged leader, as ucimc claims to be, to hide or to delete his comment?
You are more pathetic guys than he is, at least, it looks so. Amen, jackassess! |

The UC IMC Jammin' Cleanin' crew spent several hours Friday afternoon getting the new IMC ready for the big move Saturday morning, starting at 10am. Here, one member of the crew finishes up mopping the new home of Radio Free Urbana, located in the northeast corner of the ground floor. |
