Your free-speech rights notwithstanding, your visual cyber-pollution discredits the entire indymedia concept as nothing more than a lunatic bulletin board.
Your ceaseless ramblings would be sad if not amusing.
The rest of us are hoping that your medication gets adjusted soon and that your level of lucidity responds accordingly.

Your efforts are admirable if not pointless. Intellectually challenged miscreants like B.D.M. will only feel empowered by your responses. One can hope that B.D.M.and his ilk get banned from the local internet cafe in short order and get help just as quickly. Take heart. |

Normally I agree with ignoring trolls, but I believe this was a special case that needed action taken on it. I can explain further at the Steering Group meeting Sunday. I certainly encourage those in support of reasonable standards being applied to the Newswire to attend as we finish hammering out the use policy.
My only intention in pursuing this is to gather the irrefutable evidence needed to take certain steps that, while regrettable, are unfortunately necessary in this and certain other cases. It was also important that other IMCs be made aware of what many suspected about this situation. It appears that a number of them have already taken action on this issue, which I would support matching in kind locally. Once again, thanks for your support and I will have more to report Sunday. |

Thanks, ML for your efforts to alert the network to "Bobby"s spam campaign. Fortunately Chicago IMC receives little actual spam, the occasional unhinged rant, and have only rarely hidden posts, but this nitwit's campaign and his anti-semitism seem to be an obssesion. I've taken the liberty of reposting several of your comment posts below Bobby's latest missive on our site in order to underscore the scope of the problem for our collective. My hunch is that Chicago IMC will make a decision fairly shortly to drop-kick his garbage off our wire, but as you know, consensing on this takes a little time.

Hi Dick,
I am glad that you (and others around the IMC netwrok) found that the reults of my survey are helpful. I know that having to edit and/or hide posts is something that everyone at IMC would just as soon never have to do. We are discovering the hard truth that there are exceptions to such open policies.
There does seem to finally be a number of others coming to the same unfortunate conclusion. About half a dozen IMCs seem to be fairly consistently hiding his posts. Less than perfect because it has to be done manually, but it reduces the problem to a minor irritation, rather than it being a near-constant embarassment.
As Connie in Atlanta said:

.....I hadn't noticed anything particularly unusual about
Bobby's posts until he started ranting about "coprophagia"
(which isn't even in my dictionary though "coprophilia" is).
That was over the top. |
