Outside the Gate! |

Why would over 20 people from the Urbana/Champaign community drive hundreds of miles in the middle of November to join others to stand in front of a closed, locked and barbwire topped gate that opens onto a pine and fall foliage lined road in the state of Georgia? |

Recently this indeed did happen. The weekend before Thanksgiving for a number of years, people just like you or your friends and neighbors have stood in front of this beautiful tree lined road and looked beyond the double gated fence topped with razor wire that is the home of WHINSEC. Better known as the SOA (School of Americas). Some say the School of Assassins. Few US citizens know that a terrorist training school supported by our tax dollars even exists. But, now that you know maybe next year you will join thousands of your fellow citizens who converge each year at the gate to demand that the gate be opened, and that the training school for terrorists inside be forever closed. Teaching torture is not a moral value. www.soaw.org |
