Congratulations to Beverly Kudeki of Champaign, who is the winner of the WRFU Logo Contest!

Congratulations to Beverly Kudeki of Champaign, who is the winner of the WRFU Logo Contest!

Beverly submitted several variations on her theme. We picked her as the winner of the contest at tonight's WRFU meeting. The logo depicted above is the one we chose to be the first edition of the logo we will use on everything station related. This will include, first of all, a run of T-shirts, with other items such as bumper stickers, etc, to come later.

We anticipate the first run of T-shirts being available in time for sale at the Dave Lippmann WRFU Benefit Show on October 12 at 8pm at the Channing-Murray Foundation (suggested donation $5-20).

WRFU holds regular meetings on the first and third Tuesday of the month at 8pm at the IMC. Our next meeting will be October 5. The meetings are open to anyone who would like to help build the station and get involved in expanding the availability of local community radio. We are making good progress on fundraising (be sure to buy a T-shirt!) and we hope to be able to announce the location of our studio and station in the near future.

Is WRFU curremtly on the air? Isn't that the frequency that used to be assigned to "K-104" that later changed to "Oldies 94.5"?
Not on the Air Yet

George,
We have to build the station first. We hope to be on the air sometime next spring and definitely by June 2005.

I don't follow all the local radio, since my listening is mainly confined to AM 580 and WEFT these days. All I know about the frequency is that it is the one that was open when we applied and that it is FCC-approved for us to use.
