The Post Amerikan (http://postamerikan.pabn.org) was for more than 30 years a fixture of the Midwest Anarchist scene and a thorn in the side of Bloominton, Illinois.

he print publication is now dead, after many years of struggle and the constant threat of not making payment to the printer. It was given a ceremonious/unceremonious obituary in the town newspaper and off it goes into the sunset.

But WAIT.

Who said the rebellious spirit of midwestern media activism is dead.

Strangely, with the emergence of IMCs and other media collectives, interest in independent media and anarchist collectives has only grown in the past ten years. The same years which saw the decline of an active and hell-raising publication were the boom-years of independent media.

So....

The Post Amerikan lives again online.

f the experience of Indymedia has taught us anything, it is that the best publishers of radical propaganda are readers themselves. It is in this spirit that the Post Amerikan recommences its desperate and tragic life; off the gray printed page and into the shiny world of cyberspace.

Thankfully, we are not asking for your money! Unfortunately, green paper doesn't raise the dead. Of course, if someone knows a billionaire with nothing better to do than to become a class traitor and fund the newest anarcho-media collective on the web...send them our way!!

The focus of the site is BLGT, anti-racist, anti-fascist, and anarchist. It also has general political fare. News relating to the midwest region and Bloomington, IL in particular is highly valued. Poetry and creative works are also very welcome. Timely or untimely, if it's good writing it gets published.
