In this story Martell Miller talks about how his experience videotaping the Champaign Police department's traffic stops of African-American men has resulted in a potential sentence of 4-14 years in jail for eavesdropping. |

If you would like to support Martell Miller please attend his hearing on Wednesday, September 8 at 3:15pm [note time change] in Courtroom F (no shorts or sandals allowed).
There will be a showing of the documentary that has been confiscated by the Champaign Police Department about Champaign Police Stops will air at 4pm, Saturday September 11th in the auditorium of the Champaign Public Library and again at 1pm on Sunday, September 12th at Boardman's Art Theatre in downtown Champaign.
There is also a UPTV Commissioners meeting on Monday, 9/13 at noon in the Urbana City Building, 400 S. Vine St. |

It seems like Martell Miller was framed
because of the Rodney King incident. The
charges and possible penalties against
Miller is a ploy by the Champaign police to
keep those who want to document
suspected actions of police brutality
silent or not do such surveillance actions. |
