Today for the monthly critical mass (every last Friday at 5:15pm starting at the Alma Mater at Green and Wright) a local microbroadcaster showcased the Critical Mass Sound System. |
20 riders and one 4-watt transmitter (104.5FM) showed up for Critical Mass this month. The transmitter played anti-RNC, pro-bike, and random fun songs for the assembled bike enthusiasts and the cars they shared the streets with. Some riders brought radios on their bikes to pick up the signal and some cars behind the mass tuned in as everyone enjoyed a leisurely tour of Champaign Urbana.
This was the first Critical Mass of the school year and at least half of the 20 assembled riders were new. We look forward to seeing everyone again next month.
Critical Mass will be having a special ride at 11am this Saturday (August 28th) to help gather people for the rally, march, and bazaar (CU Against the RNC) taking place in Scott Park later in the day. Bring a radio because the Sound System will ride again! |
