I am curious to find out what the criteria to place articles in local news section or in regular section is. I really think that my last article (...REQUEST FOR PROPER COOPERATION..) deserves more than local attention. At least, that is what I was told before when I was rewarded for the poetry , which is presented there. I would, certainly, like to get some clarification of why it was placed in local section. |

Anna,
Our policy is to move articles by local authors up to the Local Newswire. This is so they can have a longer exposure before they scroll off the mainpage. I would be happy to move them back to the Elsewhere Newswire, if that is what you desire, but your article will disappear much faster there into the archive, since it gets a great deal more traffic than the Local Newswire..
You made the comment that I was somehow mocking you by not giving you an immediate answer and moving this article up to the Local Newswire also. That is just not so. First, all those who work on the IMC editorial team are unpaid, volunteer workers. I have other obligations to attend to right now, so that is why there was not an immediate response. But since you've chosen to be so testy about it, I have devoted some time to answereing you now.
My moving your article again is not mockery, but simply standard policy for local authors who forget to click the "Is this article of local interest?" box when publishing their stories. Again, I would be happy to move your article down to the Elsewhere newswire, if that's what you want.
As for either of your articles becoming a Feature, in my opinion neither one qualifies as being of the broad, immediate newsworthiness needed to become a Feature. There are others who do editorial work here who may disagree, so mine is not the final word on this.
If you would like to have more expsoure for your article, the Indymedia network is available to you. Here's the link to publish:
https://newswire.indymedia.org/sun/servlet/OpenMir?do=opensession&sessiontype=content
On the global newswire:

BTW, the color problem with graphics is a known problem with our software and does not reflect anything about how we feel about his art. You can click on the link to geta full-color version of his cartoon.
I would suggest that if you have more questions about our editorial practices, please send an email to imc-web (at) ucimc.org. Comments about our polciies are generally off-topic on the Newswire itself. |

Dear ML , I , sure, prefer my article- 'POPULARIZATION AND REQUEST FOR COOPERATION' to be in regular news not local news, which, in my opinion, means for it to be placed in left regular broader section.
'The Inquiry' is good where it is now.
Dear Jack Ryan, do you think that my poetry is bad or good? I honestly was not able to understand it from your comment. I was told that that particular set to 'Alice in Wonderland' was pretty good. I think so myself also. The 'Strange Tale' is very "uncooked" yet, I am sorry that I placed it, I have some much sharper and already finished pieces on the same topic.
I am currently trying to become my own illustrator, and has made some steps already in that direction. Even if nobody wants to cooperate with me, I think, I would be able in the very nearest future to place my pieces with my own illustrations. However, the GOOD illustrator is still very much welcome.

Anna,
Although I disagreed with the topic, I thought it was pretty interesting and well done. Good Luck.
