... and what happens when you point out that one of their posters is a Holocaust denier.

>this board has a serious problem, including an editorial problem, that it's in denial about.

If you want to talk about what you think is wrong with this site, do it here:

http://sf.indymedia.org/news/2002/12/1548433.php

This thread is not about SF-IMC any more than it's about anti-Semitism. It's about the murder of a peace activist.

If you want to talk about anti-Semitism, start an anti-Semitism thread. If you want to talk about Holocaust denial, start a Holocaust denial thread. But stop disrupting other threads with off topic posts.

I'm fed up with your disruptive distractions. They've gone on long enough. The next time you post an off topic comment in any thread whatsoever, you're banned. Capiesc'?

Don't let me stop you.

Go right ahead, Nessie. I'll wear it as a badge of honor.

Because then Brian's posts shilling Holocaust denial aren't banned but my posts calling his bluff _are_. And your act of hypocrisy will have made my point for me far more effectively than I could have, because you will have said "It's perfectly okay to be a Holocaust denier on Indybay, but don't you dare _challenge_ a Holocaust denier, or you're out on your ear."

And then maybe your readers will notice that, while threads all over this board wander from topic to topic to topic in that internet way, there are two kinds of topic drift which Commissar Nessie cannot stand and make his remaining hair stand on end. One is when a perfectly good Israel-bashing hoot-rumpus gets disrupted by some awkward truths about the nature of the folks doing the Israel-bashing, and the other is when someone dares to point out the inadequacies of the editorial policy itself to the editorial staff.

And they will draw some conclusions about the massive gap between the principles you claim to defend and the actual way you defend them.

What will you do?

One last post about how Indybay handles criticism of its editorial policy.

----

Uhh
by one of the editors Sunday June 08, 2003 at 03:06 PM

"Uhh" just posted a criticism of SF-IMC's editorial policy in a thread other than this one:

http://sf.indymedia.org/news/2002/12/1548433.php

So I deleted it.

I then deleted everything else "Uhh" has ever posted. Let this be a warning to the rest of you. Either you cease disrupting discussion here, or you will be removed.

I also hid this thread. That means that comments will no longer show up on the "latest comments" page. That means that only people who bookmark the page will even know it exists, and the rest of us wont have to look at your ugly crap any more. If you don’t like it, tough.

As long as you confine it to the appropriate thread:

http://sf.indymedia.org/news/2002/12/1548433.php

you can complain all you want, but it’s not going to do any good. Our minds are made up. You are our guests here. We make the rules. You follow them or you’re out of here. We rule against disruptive behavior. It annoys our other guests. If you don’t like this, tough. Feel free to go somewhere else. It’s a big ‘net. Find a rock you like and crawl under it. There are plenty of them out there. Choose one, be gone, and stop annoying our guests. They complain.

Anybody who wishes to bookmark this page and continue the discussion, is welcome to do so. But stay on topic or I'll 86 you, too.
