3 Point Plan To End The Regime Current rating: 0
25 Apr 2003
Overturn corporations as "individuals" ruling, take private money out of elections and join the World Court. Author's 3 point plan to end shadow regime's crimes against humanity.
"It's all premised on anonymity. Corporations get away with mass murder, as did Europe's monarchies. In the old days we could kill or remove the king, but corporations? Here's my simple plan," says writer George LoBuono, of Davis, CA. "First we elect a president who appoints a Supreme Court that will overturn the 1970's ruling granting corporations the legal rights of individuals. As it is, they can dump money into elections and avoid prosecutions for crimes against humanity because the premise of a corporation is elite anonymity, not individual liability. It's a basic contradiction.

"Second, we end the prostitution of Congress by outlawing its purchase. All we need do is fund national elections with public money. This will open elections to all parties and will quickly evolve government to meet the life-and-death needs of this planet. Imagine it: government as a people's commonality, not a theme park fiction.

"Finally, the new president joins the United States to the World Court, establishing the rule of law over fiat. Then, and only then, will our thousand petty tyrants be liable for their crimes globally. Corporations will be prosecuted for poisoning our childrens' food chain, for plowing under rainforests and for global warming. Ford and GM will pay billions if they continue to make oversized engines and will face escalating tax penalties for each year's delay in converting to more efficient, less polluting vehicles. Crimes against humanity violate all of us--as a commonality, which is the basis for government, isn't it?"

Asked if he had plans to run for office to achieve such ends, the author said, "It shouldn't be necessary. This is all doable within a few years, once we oust George Jr. and his cronies. A more universal basis for government lies within each citizen, their common sense--not false postures and nationalistic fictions." former U of I student George LoBuono is an essayist and author of Alien Fringe, an ebook of short stories.
