On Wednesday the 23rd, non-tenure track instructors at ISU voted for union recognition! |

In a 131-79 vote on Wednesday, non-tenure track instructors voted for union recognition. NTT instructors work from year to year (or in some places semester to semester) with no job security, few benefits, and no prospect of pay increases. The ISU Non-Tenure Track Faculty Association-IEA/NEA has been working with the NTT's for over a year and had been facing stiff legal resistance from ISU administrators. In the days right up to the vote, union activists faced a barrage of negative communication from a few well-paid instructors opposed to the union, but in the end they came out on top. |
