I saw the show about Tommy and could relate a lot to his background and the hate and resentment towards a society that seems to have turned it's back on us. I felt the victory when he did away with the guard. As brutal as it seems, I sorta thought he almost deserved it. Like the man that jabs a stick through the fence at a dog everyday when he walks by, didn't he think the dog would attack him if he ever had the chance?
I've done a lot of bad stuff myself and will pay for much of it for the rest of my life, thank God I never got in the position that Tommy is in. But it could be me...or you there too, if we did the things that Tommy did.
But what guard in his right mind would transport Tommy from a cell to the shower or the rec area now? Tommy has as much as said that the system has done this to him and that also that he will do it again if given a chance. He may have retracted that by now...probably has, but words can never really be taken back...no more than pulling the knife out will undo the stab wound. There's really not much left that they can do, unless Tommy volunteered himself for the death penalty or something.
But don't let Tommy fool you, he don't mind being alone, he'd rather be alone now anyways. He's getting to old for that old life...one of those up-and-comers would stick a shive in him day one just so they could be known as the man that killed the "Baddest man in Americas prison system". He wouldn't last long no matter how many Aryans he had around him.
But Tommy still has his life, and he still has an opportunity to give his pride and anger to the Lord Jesus Christ and have forgiveness for all of his sins, just like you and I do. I did it, and I'm finally free. Free at last, free at last, thank God allmighty, I'm free at last.
