This is an announcement for the next U-C IMC Steering Group meeting where we will decide whether or not to accept an option to buy the building where the U-C IMC currently resides. Per consensus of the general membership at their Oct. 2002 meeting, the Steering Group is empowered to pay earnest money (agree to an option) for a building, by consensus, provided the meeting is announced in advance on the website (here), the IMC e-mail list and by posting on the bulletin board at the IMC. |
Right now the Steering Group is negotiating an Option to buy our building. An option is essentially placing earnest money down to buy the building by a given date for a set amount.
We will make this decision at the next Steering meeting on Wed. Feb. 19 at 8 PM. This is an important decision and so we invite and welcome the input of all IMC members who interested in taking part in this discussion and decision.
VERY IMPORTANTLY, we need to have spokes from ALL WORKING GROUPS at this meeting. If we do not, we cannot make a decision and may lose the opportunity to have an option, which may result in having to pay a market price much higher than a negotiated option price should we later decide to buy this building.
Per the consensus of the last membership meeting, the Steering Group is empowered to pay earnest money on a building, provided the decision is made by consensus at a publicized meeting.
