As Devoutly Normal 'Reality' Presses More Upon Our Psyches, Many Will Crack... Current rating: 0
18 Nov 2002
The trick is to influence a critical mass to crack excellently. Herein is a few short anecdotes meant to inspire the conscious-leaning towards ways in which we can utilize our strengths (as veritable David vs. Goliaths) towards ju-jitsu with the dominant mindset.

I accept that I am not very great at composing text. But I hope you will at least skim this and see if there might be some nuggets!

We must dare to evolve. Evolution of rigid mindsets. Such an evolution does not need the side-tracking organizations and "leaders" of up-to-now. Such an evolution needs only an awareness that is able to notice how similar one's own realities of oppression are connected with others *ACROSS THE BOARD*.

We are ALL severely wounded in today's world. Across the spectrum, from obviously oppressed to even the severely alienated ideologically challenged mindsets which run increasingly unaccountable institutions.

Provocative, yes.

The best way we may be able to see our COLLECTIVE misery is when we remember our experiences as kids. Even the most privileged youngpeople were set upon by 'Normality'. This young-like spirit, still buried within us, sometimes under so much psychological armor that it's easy to forget such a spirit remains with us.

Persons called parents sometimes allow their young-like spirit some freedom to PLAY with the excellent imaginations of their offspring, and so we see this spirit escaping the Supposed-to's of Given groanup mentalities.

It was in our collective "childhoods", when we were socialized/programmed/indoctrinated/colonized/enculturated-whatever term you want to use-basically it was a time when we were ALL forced or coerced to abandon our not yet colonized individualities. Before we were so *colonized*, we trusted in our own intuitions and questioned the value (if only privately) of automatically subordinating our ideas about life to some "authority" we didn't know.

And, in time, our splendid curiosity about the highly interesting life all around us, gave way to disinterest, fear, and cynicism. And what some people call "death culture" took over. (I'd rather call it *war culture*)

So, here's an example of our commonality, reaching across much of what we believe are our impassable differences. (Belief has such a curious way of tripping us up!)

Evolving
Understanding this commonality, we might then realize the value of FINALLY getting beyond "Us vs. Them" trenches.

The camp we status-quo challengers call "Them" are actually only seriously *lost* persons like ourselves! Largely de-individualized, perhaps much more severely than many of us. Oppressed in a way. Not oppressed like the completely innocent victims of these people's methods, though. Oppressed in a different way. A way, probably, of information. The situation Chomsky talks about when he brings up the issue of the problem of those people who are so-called "best educated"; basically, persons whom've deeply INTERNALIZED the *Given* value system and don't seem to seriously *know* /realize the value of systems we claim to have as better alternatives.

So, right now there's a gap between "Us and Them". If we seriously want to close that gap, we're going to have to promote a liberation for EVERYONE, not just the "proletariat".

We are not separate, and we can only gain serious liberation with all angles of humanity meaningfully involved.
