As a Jew, I'm proud of that aspect of our history that has been dedicated to the pursuit of social justice, both for ourselves and others. During the last 40 years, that legacy has been perverted by the commitment to a racist, Jewish state that has been dictated by self-serving Jewish leaders in this country, with the concurrent rise of neoconservatism. I'm proud to have raised a son that enjoys being Jewish, works in a Jewish camp every summer, and doesn't need to be a right-wing Zionist nutcase to develop his identity. |
