On Friday, Dec. 3rd, the Illinois Disciples Foundation (IDF) will be hosting an Anti-War Benefit Show at Cowboy Monkey in Champaign. Local bands Shipwreck, JigGsaw, and The Situation as well as Chicagoan acts Cameron McGill and The Idle Hours will provide an entertaining and evening-filling mix of garage/psychedelic rock and alt-country music. Shipwreck will open the show at 9 pm. Get there early, the show might sell out quickly!
Cowboy Monkey is located at 6 Taylor Street in Downtown Champaign. You must be 19 years of age or older to enter. There is a $5 cover. For more information about Cowboy Monkey, please check out their website at www.cowboy-monkey.com.
All proceeds of this show will go towards the anti-war work of the Illinois Disciples Foundation. The IDF is a pioneering campus ministry with a mission of peace with justice. The IDF has been committed to anti-war organizing since the Vietnam War and has been active in the movements against the unjust wars the U.S. government is waging in Afghanistan and Iraq.
